Electric Truck-Mounted Forklift | Working Principle of Portable Onboard Forklift
Struggling with cargo loading and unloading without loading docks and relying on labor-intensive manual handling? Installing truck tail lifts is an option, yet it comes with high costs, high wear and low utilization rate for infrequent unloading tasks. Electric truck-mounted forklift is a better solution to realize flexible loading and unloading anywhere with trucks.
If you are unfamiliar with this equipment, you may fail to distinguish it from ordinary forklifts and truck tail lifts, and do not understand its working principle. Below is a detailed introduction to provide you with an alternative option for procurement and streamline loading operations.

The onboard forklift is a vehicle-mounted mobile handling device powered by built-in lithium batteries, requiring no external power supply. The compact structure occupies no cargo space during transit. During loading work, extendable support legs avoid collision with the truck floor. One single operator can complete lifting and unloading of palletized goods, solving unloading difficulties at remote sites and temporary locations.
The whole unit consists of independent lithium battery, hydraulic power station, drive motor, lifting cylinder, fork assembly, support legs and control system. Support legs stabilize the machine during operation; the hydraulic system supplies lifting power; the electric travel mechanism assists positioning, and all movements are controlled via the integrated handle.
Working Principle
After the truck engages parking brake, the operator sends commands via the control handle. The lithium battery supplies power to the hydraulic pump station, and hydraulic oil pushes the cylinder to extend and retract to lift and lower the forks. Support legs stretch and retract synchronously with lifting motion to prevent jamming against the truck bottom. Once work finishes, retract forks and support legs, lock the whole unit and continue transportation together with the truck.

Core Advantages
Mounted on trucks and free from site restrictions, suitable for warehouses, construction sites and roadside loading & unloading. Electric hydraulic drive, operable by one person to cut labor costs for loading crews. Compact folded size, easy installation, compatible with most box trucks and flatbed trucks. Low operating noise, ideal for night shifts and residential areas with noise limits.
In conclusion, portable onboard forklift features a simple working principle yet brings great convenience. It efficiently handles goods without docks or tail lifts. It can also serve as a regular stacker to realize multi-purpose use. Feel free to contact us for free digital catalogs and equipment adaptation demonstration videos.
