Electric forklifts vs. internal combustion forklifts

An electric forklift is a forklift that is powered by electric energy, usually using a battery as an energy source. A battery is a type of battery that is able to store a limited amount of electrical energy and release it when needed. Electric forklifts have many advantages. First of all, it is driven by an electric motor, so it is less noisy, and the noise of a forklift driven by a brushless motor is similar to what it sounds like when riding an e-bike. In addition, the maintenance of the motor is relatively convenient, while the life of the brushless motor is generally tens of thousands of hours, and only the maintenance of the hydraulic system needs to be paid attention to. In addition, the electric forklift has no exhaust emissions, will not cause environmental pollution, greatly reduces the harm to the human body, and is suitable for use in factories and indoors.

However, electric forklifts also have some disadvantages, the most notable of which is the limited power range, which can only last about 8 hours on a single charge, and the charging time is longer, generally taking 5-8 hours (although many forklifts are now equipped with high-power fast charging functions, but the specific time varies slightly). If you need to work continuously for a long time, you can consider asking the manufacturer to increase the battery capacity or increase the backup battery pack, or purchase the backup battery yourself. In addition, compared to internal combustion forklifts, electric forklifts are limited in terms of lifting height and can only rely on electric motors to drive hydraulic cylinders to lift slowly.

An internal combustion forklift is a forklift that uses diesel, gasoline or liquefied petroleum gas as fuel and is powered by an engine, with a load capacity ranging from 0.5 tons to 45 tons. Internal combustion forklifts typically include counterbalanced internal combustion forklifts, container forklifts (reach stackers), and side forklifts. The advantages of internal combustion forklifts include the use of diesel as power, strong range, a tank of oil can support a long period of continuous work, and it only takes a few minutes to refuel. In addition, the internal combustion forklift has strong adaptability to the environment, can be used in a relatively difficult working environment, has low requirements for the road surface, usually uses pneumatic tires, will not damage the ground, and is flexible in operation.

However, there are also some drawbacks to internal combustion forklifts. First of all, diesel engines are more expensive to run, especially against the backdrop of the current surge in oil prices. Secondly, the internal combustion forklift is noisy and vibrate, and the operating noise of the diesel engine has an irreversible impact on the human body. In addition, the exhaust gas pollution is serious, even if the processor is installed, it will cause environmental pollution, and it is necessary to clean up the dust regularly, which is more cumbersome to maintain, and can easily lead to oil pollution problems on the site.
