Electric pallet truck is a mechanical device driven by electricity, so battery is a very important component of electric pallet truck. Generally speaking, lead-acid batteries are commonly used worldwide. There are not only various types, brands, manufacturers, quality, but also different capacities of storage batteries. The capacity of the battery is not related to the forklift price, but is greatly related to the specification and model of the electric pallet truck. So, how should the battery capacity of an electric pallet truck be selected? The pallet truck manufacturer will tell you about it.

The capacity of the storage battery of an electric pallet truck is closely related to the performance of the motor and even the mechanical performance of the storage battery. Increasing the capacity of the storage battery will maintain the power of the motor unchanged for a long time, prolong the power supply time of the battery, prolong the working time of the vehicle, and increase the driving range. However, an increase in battery capacity will also increase the volume and mass of the battery pack, making it difficult to design the vehicle structure, and also increasing energy loss during vehicle operation. Therefore, regardless of the forklift price, there is a reasonable value for selecting the capacity of the battery for electric pallet trucks.
Currently, power type (or traction type) batteries are widely used in electric pallet truck. The method for evaluating its rated capacity is as follows: Fully charge the battery, and discharge it to a single cell voltage of 1.5V at a current rate of 5h (or 3h) within the range of 25 ℃ to 30 ℃ of the electrolyte. The unit of output power of the battery is ampere-hour (A · h). Regardless of the forklift price, it is appropriate to select the battery capacity based on a 5h discharge rate for electric machinery that operates continuously for a long time. For vehicles with high acceleration performance requirements, it is more reasonable to use a 3h discharge rate as the basis for selecting the battery capacity.

We need to determine the working current of the battery when the power supply voltage is fixed based on the driving power of the electric pallet truck. Multiplying this working current by the continuous working time of the vehicle is the initial selected value of the battery capacity. Regardless of the forklift price, the selection of battery capacity should be based on the preliminary selection value. From the product samples of the pallet truck manufacturer, select batteries with similar or the same capacity, and finally determine them after testing and verification.
