From manual forklifts to internal combustion engine forklifts, to electric forklifts, to agv forklifts, it is the general trend of logistics development.
The development of electric forklifts has gone through three generations in history and is developing to the fourth generation.
The first generation pallet truck is a manual pallet truck, referred to as CBY. It is characterized by a low degree of automation and intelligence, but it has made a great contribution to the transformation from manual handling to mechanized handling. Today, it still has a certain market share in the pallet truck market.
The second-generation pallet truck is an internal combustion pallet truck represented by internal combustion forklifts, referred to as FT, with a high degree of automation. The internal combustion forklift is powered by the engine, which is powerful. The disadvantage is that the exhaust emission pollutes the environment, is low in efficiency and endangers human health, and is not suitable for the food industry.

The third-generation forklift is an all-electric pallet truck represented by electric forklifts, referred to as CBD. Its degree of automation is equivalent to that of internal combustion forklifts, but it is a power technology update driven by the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection. Powered by batteries, the electric pallet truck has the advantages of energy saving, no exhaust gas emission, low noise, etc., which is the best choice for the food industry. Due to its outstanding energy-saving advantages, it is considered by the warehouse forklift industry to be one of the most potential forklifts in the future. However, it currently encounters a development bottleneck. Limited by battery capacity, low power and short working time.

The development of the fourth generation of forklifts is represented by agv forklifts, referred to as AGVS. AGVS is expected to be widely used in the future. It is an effective means of logistics transportation of today's flexible manufacturing system (FMS) and automated warehousing system. Modern AGVs are controlled by computers. Most AGVS are equipped with a centralized control and management computer to optimize the operation process of the AGV, issue processing instructions, track the components in transportation, and control the route of the AGV. The guided vehicles mainly include electromagnetic induction guidance, laser guidance and magnetic gyro guidance. The unmanned guided vehicle can be programmed to guide the guided vehicle to complete the handling work. It is a highly intelligent means of transportation.
Whether an electric forklift will be submerged in history depends not only on its own technological upgrades, but also on market demand. After all, agv forklifts need to be improved in terms of cost and scope of application.
